Anti-discrimination movement or the Quota Reform Movement In 2024
In 2024, the Quota Reform Movement in Bangladesh became a major protest led by students. It started when the High Court decided to bring back a special job quota for the children of freedom fighters. Many students felt this was unfair because it made it harder for others to get government jobs based on merit. The protests grew stronger after a student leader, Abu Sayed, was sadly killed during a demonstration. This made even more people join the movement, demanding a fair system for everyone. The government tried to stop the protests, but they kept growing. As the protests spread across the country, the government faced a huge crisis. Eventually, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country, marking the end of the Awami League’s long rule. A new government was formed, and student leaders even started their own political party to bring fairness and justice to Bangladesh.
